Frescobaldi Lamaione super Tuscan Italian red wine from Tuscany, Italy

Frescobaldi Lamaione is a superb Supertuscan produced by the CastelGiocondo tenuta and made using only the best Merlot from a single vineyard cru. It is the first of its kind to be produced in Montalcino. It is matured for one year in oak barriques and a further refinement of one year in the bottle. The color is an intense ruby red, the aroma is distinct of matured fruits, rich and lingering and on the palate it is coarse and harmonic.

Tasting Notes
Lamaione is an elegant wine with an intense violet color. Opening with fruity notes like wild blackberry and blueberry, followed by aromas of clove and black pepper and a delicate hint of eucalyptus to finish with aromas of tar, graphite and liquorice. On the palate the decisive entry denotes a body that is powerful and warm at the same time. The tannin texture is dense and silky. Notable intensity of flavor, long persistent finish.
